DREAM: I’m scheduled to work at Sonic again. I show up at the Nimmo location. All the employees are new. I’m wearing a headset to take the drive-thru orders. Some of the other headset-wearing guys inform me I shouldn’t be wearing one, as the girl in the kitchen always likes to have it on. I confer with the girl but she doesn’t care so much. I feel a little stressed because it’s 9:07 a.m. and I haven’t clocked in yet. The manager made a joke earlier too about how her crazy daughter and I should drive out of here because she’s been acting up and I was late. It’s starting to get really crowded here. I run into my Spanish teacher from high school. I’m trying to get back into the crunch of things...

Waking up at 10:27 a.m. My neck and back hurt from the position of the pillows and my legs are sweaty. She awakens when I rustle the sheets.

Her: “Why you leaving me?”

I don’t answer. She’s just being cute.

Her: “Noooo.”

I leave for the house.

There. Making Cream of Wheat for breakfast with Brown Sugar, Flax Seed, Blueberries, and Coconut Milk. Darren’s thawing out some salmon. He just got back from long boarding down at the beach.

All day shift at China Wok.

It’s insanely sunny out but cool enough to want to be in it.

Margot offers to supply me with Panera for lunch. We grab the to-go order inside and then go on a delivery run. She opens up the wrapper to her sandwich and her mood turns to a raging shock because it’s a turkey sandwich rather than a tuna sandwich. She’s super pissed and demands we turn around. I have to raise my voice over hers because she’s completely lost it.

“We will get it taken care of! We live in a world where people make mistakes! My goodness.”
I make the delivery and we return to Panera. A manager spots us on the way in and is already ready to please. We exchange the sandwiches and he gives us two chocolate chip cookies as appeasement.

Me: “Are you happy now?”

Tuna Salad Sandwich with Lettuce and Tomato. Salt n Vinegar Chips. Aloe Vera Drink.

The sunny day turns to a foggy cool night. Perfect weather for leprechauns I suppose and all the hazy St. Patty’s Day plans the beach natives have for a night of drinking and partying.

Listening to talk radio and comedy radio off and on. I catch a Chris Rock segment...“If you ain’t ever thought about murder you ain’t been in love!”

It’s busy for a solo driver. But it’s finally over just before eleven o’clock. Made my pot of gold tonight—raked in the big money. Lucky delivery boy I am.

Back home winding down...

Hot and Sour Soup. Shrimp Egg Roll. Spring Rolls. Slice of Pizza.

Watching Incendiary (2008).

My fortune cookie: “Truth, Can you handle the truth?”

At the storage unit practicing songs on the guitar for the show I’m supposed to play tomorrow night.

Back home—settling in.

Sleep 4 a.m.
