After all that, Ana and I drive out to Norfolk for the Psychtober Fest at Smartmouth. My band, Bamm Bamm, is playing along with Hope Magnet, Reptile Tile, DJ Lord Thomas, Deli Kings, and Shagwuf. Josh and I felt really good about our performance – out of the last three shows we did this was the tightest for sure.

Chicken Sandwich with Fries and Arugula Salad.

Back home. Ana and I attempt to have a nice time but something negative always comes up in conversation and we just can’t seem to be nice to each other. I really try but there just isn’t any room for space between each other. She keeps bringing up the idea of moving out for a week or just leaving.

...

At some point later on she’s curled up in her bed and I offer a good night.

Back home. She gets triggered by something that’s said and we almost get into a really heated argument about our relationship. I try to keep my tone calm – it’s hard at times but works well when I really focus on it.
