Monkey in the Middle at China Wok (December 12 2014) (2)[i]

Waking up at 10 a.m.

Irish Oatmeal with Cinnamon, Maple Syrup, Maca Powder, Chia Seeds, Blueberries, and Almond Milk. Coffee.

I've got a chiropractor appointment before work. It's my third visit now so I'm getting into the routine. Lie down on the chiro bed, try to enjoy the cracking and popping sounds the lady makes when adjusting my neck and back, and then see the physical therapist. It would appear I'm recovering from something severe but I'm really not. Just trying to keep my spine healthy. Plus, I should be covered from somebody else's insurance from the car accident.

All day shift at China Wok.

My first delivery is a $269 order to a realty group at the oceanfront. $30 tip. I can't complain.

Banana.

Chic Pea Salad Sandwich. Blue Corn Quinoa Tortilla Chips with Salsa. Earl Grey Tea with Honey. Thunderbird Energetica Cherry Walnut Crunch Bar.

The day continues slowly.

Honey Crisp Apple.

Kevin plays monkey in the middle with the girls on the down time.

Ana shows up after 9. She got promoted at her job, which is good news. We both catch up on the past few days.

My last order of the night comes at 10:20, ten minutes before we're supposed close (not like that matters cause time is relative here at China Wok). 958 Prince William. This guy never fails. Every. Single. Day. Granted, he's a really nice guy and always tips decent. But the main problem I have with him is he's soooo far – it takes forever to drive out to Kings Grant. And did I mention he orders every single day? The raspiest voice in the city – sounds like he could be on one of those tobacco recovery commercials – and he always has a gun strapped to his belt. I wouldn't have bothered to mention him before but here's the kicker: just as I'm arriving back to the restaurant after delivering to him we find out Cecily took down his order wrong. He wanted the Chinese donuts and not the crab rangoon. And he's not accepting the offer to make up for it tomorrow. So guess what? I have to drive all the way back out there to delivery fricken fried sugar balls. He doesn't tip me for my inconvenience because, well, we inconvenienced him. And it's not his fault. It's Cecily's! But I'm the one who has to spend the extra time and gas to mend the situation. Not only that I have to work later. It's just frustrating.

Back home and off work thankfully at 11:20 p.m.

Immediately, digging into my Tofu with Broccoli, Onions, Carrots, and Rice in Garlic Sauce.

Watching Frontera (2014).

Meanwhile, Kevin has a girl over downstairs named Sydney. I make my presence known and give him a hard time about paying me rent money while holding a baseball bat. I assure this girl that despite the fact that he pays rent late Kevin's still a good guy.

Meanwhile the meanwhile, Darren and Devon are throwing an argumentative fit in the master bedroom.

Sleep at 3 a.m.
