Josh's New Era (July 15 2014)[i]

Waking up later than usual at 1:20 p.m. Ana's knocking on my door. She's on her lunch break and thought she'd stop by. I wasn't expecting to wake up this late.

Honey Crunch n Oats with Almond Milk.

Josh is cleaning his room out thoroughly because his fiancé will be coming into town from Maryland tonight. I haven't had the chance to talk to him too much about the new love in his life nor the fact that he's about to get hitched and move to the West for a time, but he seems happy.

Scrambled Eggs. Toast with Vegan Cream Cheese. Baked Salt n Vinegar Chips. Honey Green Tea.

I wait for Ana to get off work so we can ride to the Rec Center together. They've got adult basketball scheduled but there are way too many people – they can only allow six teams. I get wait listed via a random lottery draw. I make use of the fitness room, lifting weights and doing various ab exercises. After an hour and a half I finally get called up from the bench to play a few games. Fresh blood serves me well and I knock a couple buckets in a row.

Back home. Kevin and I prepare ourselves for some private investigator work. I've got to verify the address of a former roommate of mine (they owe me a lot of money) so I can file a summons. We drive out to the neighborhood, which is a gated community. Another car in front of us is dialing in and we follow behind to make it through the mechanical gate. Using a clue from a photo I found online I already have a pretty good idea which building it is. Kevin poses as a pizza delivery driver carrying the pizza box from the Pizza I just bought from Brothers. And I pose as a jogger listening to music and talking on the phone. We locate which balcony it is by simply waiting for one of the roommates to come out for a smoke. I also recognize some familiar pictures on the wall. Soon enough a girlfriend of my former roommates comes out for a smoke. I verify the face and that's that. We drive out of there feeling triumphant and like true private investigators. I put on Tame Impala's "Elephant" to affirm our victory and suit the spirits.

Back home. Researching and preparing forms to turn into the court tomorrow.
