Darren Eating Breakfast (April 11 2013)*

☼ ○ ▬

Crowds of people come swarming in through the double glass doors. I spot a few familiar faces from high school. I don’t know why we’re all gathered here. It feels like I’m in high school again and so I ask my new friends if they feel the same, “Doesn’t it feel like we’re in high school again?”

“Not really,” a tall one replies. He asks, “What high school did you go to?”

I answer with a school I didn’t attend, “Killing.” He doesn’t seem to understand what I say so I spell it out, “K-I-L-L-I-N-G.”

But then the guy standing next to me who actually attended school there corrects me, “No. It’s K-E-E-L-I-N-G.”

I play it off, “Yeah. Yeah. That’s right.”

Alenka Chocolate (April 11 2013)*

I grab my bike and ride to the basketball courts near Mill Dam and First Colonial. Shooting some hoops by myself but then two Chinese dudes show up. I call up Anthony to bike out here for a two-on-two opportunity. He arrives. We play our best and prove victorious two games in a row. They just weren’t aggressive enough. Anthony even tries to distract them with conversation during the game while they converse in their native language to each other. It’s kind of comical. But overall it was a fair match.

Apple.

Black Beans with Mixed Vegetables and Rice.

Attempting to practice some music at the storage unit but my storage unit neighbors are blasting the radio making it hard for me to focus.

On the way back home I decide to check out the dumpster behind Beach Bagel Bakery. Seven bags of perfectly fresh bagels. Perfect.

Popcorn and Alenka Chocolates.

Watching The Hunting Party (2007).
