Rocko's Modern Life. Jeffrey Cruz.[i]

Waking up later than usual. 1 p.m.

Blueberry Bagel with Butter. Frozen Banana. Brown Rice Green Tea.

Spending about an hour working on a new Pinball Locomotive song with Anthony and Kevin.

The rain falls from the sky washing away all that stinkin’ pollen.

Errands.

Ginger Peanut Noodles with Egg and Tomatoes. Orange Juice.

Watching Bully (2011).

This doesn’t really capture what the documentary is about but one of the victims of bullying says this, “Girls are like candy. Sometimes you want, like, a Hershey’s bar, sometimes you want a Snicker’s bar. You can’t really tell which one you want. Sometimes you want, like, a Popsicle. It’s a complicated feeling.”

Rotating my tires on my own with a car jack and cinder blocks.

Apple.

Hanging out at Leslie’s house. I was going to use the treadmill but we get caught up in 90’s nostalgia watching some of the Nickelodeon TV shows our generation used to watch when we were kids like Doug, Salute Your Shorts, Rocko’s Modern Life, etc.

...

Eating a Salad.

...

Earlier while on the phone she explained the kind of disastrous and frustrating day she was having including scenarios such as spending an unnecessarily long time at the bank, a bagel catching fire in the microwave, frustration with getting her left contact in, and feeling feverish. I point out while watching an episode of Rocko’s Modern Life that Rocko’s life is similar to the day she had. Exaggerated, but close.

Me: “Momma told you there’d be days like this. Momma said.”

Back home.

Eating leftover Black Beans with Mixed Vegetables and Rice.

Sleep 4 a.m.
