With friends preparing to play a basketball game on an outside court but it never happens.

Waking up naturally just after 10 a.m. I try to go back to sleep but I can’t. The temperature in my room is just warm enough to be uncomfortable.

Settling down with some fresh Cinnamon Oatmeal with Banana, Brown Sugar, and Milk. Sipping on some Black Indian Tea. Aysena recorded a cute video of her singing “Love Me Tender” and left it on Facebook with a private setting for only us to view. I’m smiling so big. She’s so adorable.

All day shift at China Wok.

It’s a bright breezy spring day.

Mesquite Almonds. Five Guys French Fries with Ketchup. Pomegranate Cheery Ade.

Deliveries are steady.

Banana. Mango Greek Yogurt.

Cecily offers me an Egg Roll because there’s a hole in it and they can’t sell it.

There’s some slow time after the small dinner rush. Ling shows me this article about an abandoned skyscraper in Detroit and we engage in a deep discussion on government assistance, the difference between the way America’s government treats it’s citizens and the way China treats it’s citizens. The mentality is so different here in America where most people don’t work fulltime and then also receive the government’s help. In China there’s a necessity to work and make your own living because there is no assistance from The Man. It’s the reason why I see my bosses work EVERY DAY, all day. It’s strange to think about.

...

I point at the laptop screen and show Ling the word overpopulation translated to Chinese in Google Translate. “There. That’s the reason for all our problems.”

Off work and home.

Egg Vegetable Fried Rice.

Watching Tyrannosaur (2011).

Sleep 3 a.m.
