Back home. Ana and I got off work at the same time. She cooks us dinner: Tofu with Curry, Kale, Carrots, and Quinoa.

Watching an episode of Twin Peaks.

Cleaning up.

Working out on the living room floor while Ana and Elvis lounge on the couch. Her and I get into a deep discussion on current events and family affairs.

Riding my bike down at the oceanfront. At some point my chain gets caught up in the bike frame so I’m stranded on the corner of 29th and Atlantic. While waiting for Ana to come pick me up a dude just walks up and sits near me. He starts complaining about a situation he’s in.

He starts off asking, “Have you ever been racially profiled?”

I didn’t know what to say but I listen to his story. He was just trying to get his phone out of friend’s car at a hotel and from what I understand the owners wouldn’t even let him on the premises because, well, racial profiling?

“There’s a problem in our culture,” I say. “Things are tense right now.”

I tell him to stay strong as Ana scoops me up.

Raspberries and Yogurt.
