Waking up at 10:50 a.m.

Oatmeal with Cinnamon, Blueberries, Maple Syrup, and Kefir. Earl Grey Tea.

Final afternoon rehearsal with the ELO band. Things take longer than predicted but then again you should always expect that when dealing with this kind of project. We pack up the van and the first group heads off to New York.

Scrambled Eggs. Toast with Butter and Jam. Salt n Vinegar Chips with Avocado. Coffee.

Ana and I meet up with Bri and Trevor at their place. They rev up the white Jeep and we’re on our way. It’s quite cozy in the backseat – making a few stops here and there to stretch our legs.

...

On the NJTP while at one of the stops Ana and I get free cups of hot water to make green tea with.

Arriving in downtown Manhattan New York City. Checking into the hotel. Room is very basic – bed is firm – but that’s all part of the experience. Ana and I venture out into the rainy night. It’s 2 a.m. We’re on a mission to dine at a ramen place that’s supposed to be open till 3 but to our dismay isn’t. The rain patters on our faces and my glasses. Stuck in the uppity part of the city and nothing else is open. Settling on a Falafel stand.

Gorging on our food and settling into our new hotel home.

There’s something about being away from home and in the privacy of a temporary “new home” that allures us into making love. Meanwhile, the random honks from the taxis on the street alarm the air and garbage trucks chuck along the street.

Sleep 4 a.m.
