Adversity Makes Strange Bedfellows. Gregory Maiofis.[i]

Waking up just before noon.

Enjoying a Pancake and Coffee breakfast with Ana.

Learning "Piano Man" by Billy Joel – one of my piano students wants to learn so I figured I should learn it first.

Scrambled Eggs. Cinnamon Raisin Bagel with Cream Cheese. Orange Juice.

Got six lessons scheduled at Music Makers today.

Potato Chips. Peach.

Setting up a new humidifier in my room – practicing piano – cleaning the bathtub.

Amy's No Chicken Noodle Soup with Homemade Slaw and Yeast Rolls.

Finishing American Gangster (2007).

Going for a late night bike ride to the oceanfront. At 3 in the morning it's a ghost town out here in this humid ocean air, nothing but a spare taxi or two on Atlantic Avenue. I like this.

Watermelon Sparkling Water.

Sleep at 4:30 a.m.

Later on around 6 a.m. I wake up in the middle of my sleep scratching my left forearm furiously until is starts to burn. There's no physical sign of a rash or redness or bumps or anything. And it's only the left arm (the driver's arm). I noticed it itching for about a week now. But not this bad. When you're sleeping you don't really have command of what your body does. Otherwise I would've controlled the scratching. I'm forced to get out of bed and shower. The only thing I could find online was a fairly recently discovered condition called Brachioradial Pruritus (BRP). It's either a nerve compression in the cervical spine causing this itching or long exposure to sunlight, which I get when delivering all day. I wear sunscreen on the left side of my body though. And I wrap my arm up in a towel for double measure sometimes. It baffles me really.

Back to dreamland.
