Ana's Corner (2)(May 7 2013)[i]

Waking up shortly after 1 p.m.

Garlic Onion Bagel with Non-Dairy Cream Cheese. Orange Juice.

Cleaning up the aftermath from last night – silver tinsel and a deck of cards everywhere.

Falafel Wrap with Tomatoes and Hummus.

Watching Hoop Dreams (1994).

This evening I made plans to hang out with Ana. We dabble in a few rounds of tennis next to First Colonial High School before we get rained out. Then, head to Rock Fish for our second attempt to use this $50 gift card I’ve had for a while. We arrive just in time before they decide to close.

...

Bronzed Tuna with Mashed Potatoes, Mixed Vegetables, a Salad, and a Dreamsicle Crush Drink.

...

At my house in my room. She sits down on the floor by the dresser below my bookshelf.

Ana: “I’m gonna sit in my corner.”

Me: “That really IS your corner. [Ha-ha] I’m gonna make a sign for you.”

 Ana's Corner (7)(May 7 2013)

This is nice. We read excerpts from The Bible and talk about the popular song “Hallelujah” that pulled from stories in The Bible. We play multiple games of “Speed” using a deck of vintage playing cards I snagged from the thrift store on a makeshift style Japanese table I put together with cinder blocks and a slab of wood. Sipping on Honey Oolong Tea and talking on a range of things: chemistry and being on the same page, trust, films, etc.

“Everything turns up at a thrift store eventually.”

...

I walk her out to the car. We exchange an array of hugs, per her request. I’m really into this friendship that’s forming.

Later in the night (or to be put more accurately, early morning) after eating some Kinder Chocolate and researching basketball, a few texts are shared. She calls me a “rare sweetness” in one and in another fairly long text she explains “I could definitely picture something more blossoming from our friendship because I do like you.” ::::::::::: I just sit back and take that in for a second. I smile and my heart giggles a little bit.

It changes the psyche of your relations with somebody after knowing this information. It can be used to one’s advantage. One piece of the mystery has been chipped off. I’m only encouraged by the pressing nature of time to chip off more to this mystery.

Sleep 5 a.m.
