Black Banana (May 14 2013)*

Waking up at 1:56 p.m. Hard sleep.

Blueberry Bagel with Non-Dairy Cream Cheese. Orange Juice.

Errands.

I had considered sending Aysena an email with one of two things: I was going to just get it all out of my system and write something with disdain, or say something simple like I miss you. We concluded our communication with a bitter taste in our mouths. I haven’t spoken or wrote her since a week ago but it feels like months have passed. Despite the new connection I’ve been making with Ana, which has been wonderful, I still have these embedded achy feelings every now and then when I sense Aysena’s presence in my mind. After finishing my errands and I’m back home I check the computer. She sent me an email. My heart drops just a little. What a coincidence that I had planned on writing her something but she beat me to it.

Subject: don't reply!

I still think of you.

Should I say something back? She said don’t reply. Obviously, if I really wanted to reply back I would anyway. But I’ll just wait.

Ginger Peanut Noodles with Tomatoes and an Egg. Honey Green Tea.

My new rubber tread basketball just came in the mail. I take it to the Lynnhaven Middle School courts and shoot around for a few hours.

Peach Greek Yogurt.

Ana comes over bearing gifts of lumpia. We were supposed to make them from scratch but I guess she didn’t have time to collect all the ingredients so she bought them premade/uncooked from a restaurant. We cook them all for the house and friends. I steam some Kale and Carrots to go with it. James, Minnie and her friend, and Jordan Bostic are present. We don’t have anything to dip the lumpia in so I jet to China Wok via bike and retrieve some sweet & sour sauce. We all dig in. Putting together a red panda puzzle, which we kind of had to do twice after deciding to stick all the pieces together with Sonic stickers. The paints and markers come out. Everybody designs something. Ana paints an image that resembles a lake, a wheat field, and a village with tee pees. Minnie paints an abstract Japanese style picture. James works on a portrait of Leisa. I construct a Kinder Chocolate Wrapper collage, similar to the Alenka collage I did a while ago.

Later, with James and Ana on our bikes. I marvel at Ana’s awesome looking vintage cruiser from the 50’s. We trek to the Friend’s School. Lucky for us the rope swing is unlatched and free to use. It’s a beautiful night to frolic in this playground filled with nostalgia.

Back at the house.

Cinnamon Toast Crunch.

Ana has work early in the morning. My house is a little closer to her job so she spends the night. We just cuddle and mangle in the bed.

Me: “I think it’s interesting how dark it is in this room but I can still see you with my hands. I can feel you.”

Dozing off at about 5 a.m.
