Mom's Come Home (May 5 2016)[i]

☼ ○ ▬

I'm a skater boy. I'm on my board zooming down a country road at night. I locate a party house where I meet a young couple. The girl tries to befriend me but it's suspiciously over the top. When I try to leave they're not enthused about it. Earlier she got me to hold this small gun in my hand. The rational side of me realizes what is going on. I think them to be con artists. It's understood their plan is to set me up so that my finger prints are on this gun. I try to escape – hopping on my skateboard and flying down the country road again. They catch up with me at another house. Out in the backyard they have me cornered. I jump over the fence and float up into the night sky. ▬ ▬ ▬ Switch to another scene. The couple is a part of a Star Wars tribute group that dresses up in all the costumes: Chewbacca, Han Solo, Princess Leia, etc. They have a truck with a detailed emblem: Chewbacca's face with "THE SIXTIES" painted in bold lettering underneath. The story with the couple continues. Out in the backyard of an apartment complex. I run along small cliffs – hiding behind a dumpster I drop dead convincing the couple I passed out. My hands fall on top of strange looking mushrooms. When they're out of sight I jump up and try to run away. A black panther that was sleeping up on a cliff catches sight of me and chases me...

In the morning I come downstairs to find that Will installed a gas burner on the electric stove. He somehow managed to make it so you can choose between electric and gas. The only problem is it's taller than before so you have to get on your tip-toes to reach the range. It's a crowded kitchen now. Him, Ana, and some other girl are here trying to make breakfast. It's weird cause it's still nighttime. My oatmeal isn't cooking properly for some reason and somebody decides to throw diced tomatoes into the pot.

"I don't want this in here!" I shout.

Waking up at 11 a.m.

Irish Oatmeal with Cinnamon, Maple Syrup, Raisins, and Kefir. Yerba Mate Tea.

Cleaning out Elvis's pen cause he's tromping around with poop on his hind leg again. This is becoming a daily problem – gotta clean his paws and wash all the sheets again.

Teaching a lesson at Music Makers.

Ana and I go to PetSmart to buy him food and toys.

Grilled PB&J. Fuji Apple. Oolong Tea.

Teaching more lessons at Music Makers.

Back home.

Ana is trying to make coconut ice cream. Another catastrophe occurs when she turns the pot of the mixture to a boil with the lid on and forgets about it. We discover it downstairs boiling over – chocolately liquid pouring down under the range. This is her vice.

Making dinner: Salmon with Red Onions, Kale, and Wild Black Rice.

Trying my hand (s) at poker. Luck just isn't on my side tonight. I win a few remarkable hands but it's not enough to keep me there all night. I watch some play aggressively with their stacks rising and falling.

Back home. Mom and Ana are soaking their oatmeal. Mom's gonna be staying in the living room for some time until she finds her own place. She's in the process of moving out of the Markham house in Portsmouth.

Jokingly I tell them, "Well, I lost all the money. Guess we won't be paying the mortgage this month!"

Elvis is in the spotlight on Ana's bed while we watch him grow into a frisky kitten – he enjoys the new toys we got him.

The rain falls persistently by the window as the three of us (Ana, Elvis, and I) catnap on the bed.
