Typewriter in the Markham House (May 7 2016)[i]

Waking up at 11:30 a.m.

Irish Oatmeal with Cinnamon, Maple Syrup, Raisins, and Kefir. Yerba Mate Tea.

Today is help-my-mom-move day again. I drive over to the Markham house in Portsmouth. It's just my mom and I organizing all the boxes, uninstalling the computer and TV, and sifting through all the stuff on the second floor. Upstairs, it's a time warp. There're piles and piles of old books (encyclopedias, Prevention mags from the 70's, Reader's Digest, and songbooks), old trinkets and bedroom bric-a-brac that belonged to my granddad and my great uncle, and tax documents from the 60's and 70's. The dust fills up my lungs so from time to time I have to take a break from it and blow my nose.

I even find contracts from my granddad's band between him and the venues they played back in the day. There's so much old junk. It's hard to figure out what to keep and what to throw away.

Sharing Toasted PB&J's and an Apple with my mom.

We load everything up in her truck and my car – transporting it all to her storage unit. I take on the task of organizing the boxes inside. The both of us are exhausted to the max. Moving is a draining task.

Back home. I whip up dinner for us in the kitchen: Tempeh with Onions, Broccoli, Artichoke, and Quinoa.

Tending to house chores.

Applesauce and Green Tea.

Spending quality time with Elvis on Ana's bed. He romps around wildly batting his paws at anything and everything – so much energy.

Sleep next to Ana at 2 a.m.
