A strange relationship with vibrating memorabilia from a movie understood to be Sleepy Hollow, but when envisioning the opening scenes in my head are completely different; it involves a beautiful young woman wearing a long flowing dress walking seductively through the forest capturing the eyes of a wanting young man. They’re both mutually in love with each other and content in their love. The man gets lost in a nightmarish daydream of her face transforming into a ghoulish and frightening creature. He snaps out of it and so sets the precedent for the film.

While driving around on some slightly far away orders Becca reaches out to me for some cheering up. She’s been in Blacksburg to get a taste of a possible new life there. We haven’t met up in a while, not since my last haircut. She’s feeling low and uninspired, needing to psychoanalyze things with a friend.

Becca: “I’ve been reconnecting with people that are changing.”

...

Me: “Well I think that’s what happens when you get older, in general, no mater where you are...uh...you’re gonna be around jaded people when you hang out with people that are your age but when you hang out with younger people, speaking from my experience, you stay reminded of the brighter things in life.”

During the dinner shift I get a delivery to Waterfront Dr, a neighborhood I frequent any where between 5 to 10 times a day.  I walk up the steps to the third floor and find another Chinese delivery guy (actually Chinese might I add) standing there knocking at apt. #302. I stand beside him and knock on apt. #301. Both neighbors open up their doors at the same time.

“You’re not gonna believe this,” I warn my customers.

All involved join in the laughter and disbelief at the coincidence of this happening.

Off work and back home.
