Creepoid at Back Bay (Jan 2 2016)[i]

Waking up around 1 p.m. Guh.

Steel Cut Oats with Cinnamon, Maple Syrup, Maca Powder, Strawberries, and Kefir. Yerba Mate.

Ana describes a series of dreams she had while napping involving a beet tree getting struck by lightning in the backyard and people trying to root the tree back in place.

As I'm getting ready to go to the gym Ana requests a goodbye kiss per usual. I smack her lightly on the lips and like clockwork she demands, "Give me a real kiss!"

"Every kiss I give you is real!" I say back.

At the Rec working out and shooting the ball around.

Banana.

Grilled PB&J. Applesauce. Honey Green Tea.

Watching Love and Mercy (2014).

Working out keyboard patches at the music space.

At Back Bay Brewery for the You're Jovian show. Beforehand, I enjoy a couple of Fish Tacos at Gringo's next door. Unfortunately, I miss the Arms Bizarre set. But I'm just in time for You're Jovian. It's Ana's first time performing on bass guitar in a band. I can tell she's a bit nervous but she's prepared and rocks the hell out of the bass. The second floor is packed to the brim with people. Every time I attend a show here it seems to attract more and more people. The third band of the night is Creepoid, a grunge psychedelic act from Philly. They totally blow us all away with their wall of crunchy guitars and soaring melodic leads drowned in reverb.

Back home. The Creepoid band and crew crash in the living room. I allow them to smoke up in there even though I won't be joining them. It turns into a smoke screen in the house. Their performance at the show was really inspiring – a genre of music I can respect and enjoy.

Sleep 4 a.m.
