I'm an underhand of the king, or totalitarian leader, of this country. There's an uprising happening outside the gates of the government's building. It's understood that a lot of us working in the government will die. We're given a packet of cards and one notepad to act as a will and last testament. The king is waiting in his quarters. There's nothing that can be done to stop the revolution. I manage to scram away to a farmhouse miles down the road. A special girl lives here. I park my car on a makeshift second story lift. She arrives on a horse. The sunlight shines just perfectly behind her face. She climbs up to where I am. We crawl together under the limbs of the tree. Her smile keeps me lost in my head – nothing else matters, even the fact that I might die after being found out doesn't even phase me. She's mine. I'm hers. We can move far, far away.

Alarm goes off at 11 a.m.

Cinnamon Raisin Bagel with Vegan Cream Cheese. Orange Juice.

All day shift at China Wok.

The girls keep pestering me with questions about words in their storybooks, pointing at any and every word they don't know...

"Rob-bert! Rob-bert! What is that? Rob-bert!"

I go with a playful mood and stay evasive.

Me: "I don't know. I can't read."

The day continues steadily.

Egg Sandwich with Vegenaise and Tomato. Goldfish Crackers. Honey Green Tea.

Deliveries pick up consistently in the evening.

Kevin really likes the China Wok hat...
