Patience with the Young Ones (August 11 2013)[i]

Waking up 11:35 a.m.

All day shift at China Wok.

Grapefruit.

87 degrees. Another hot one.

Peanut Butter Bagel. Salt n Vinegar Chips. Lightly Sweetened Tea.

The boss's daughters are here. I tutor the 7-year-old in math word problems. She doesn't understand most of the crucial words that identify the equations. I take out coins from the register and use them to help give her a visual. Cecily is too hard on her, scolding her in Mandarin. You have to be patient with the young ones.

The evening's orders pick up and I'm driving mostly non-stop.

Apple.

And then the rain falls down in bucketfuls, just like yesterday.

Vegetable Egg Fried Rice.

Off work. Sipping on a NGB Gluten-Free Lager. Can't wait to get rid of these things. They're kind of gross.

At the storage unit practicing some songs for the show tomorrow. Ana shows up to rehearse our songs too. My mom's birthday is tomorrow so we record a video of us covering "Proud Mary".

Back home.

Sharing Apple and Cherry Pie downstairs.

In reference to the recent injuries Ana's acquired...

Her: "I need to be more careful."

Me: "With what?"

Her: "Moving around in general."

Sleep at a late hour.
