Dentist Fun at VCU (March 4 2016)[i]

Waking up at 10:30 a.m.

Oatmeal with Cinnamon, Maple Syrup, Raisins and Kefir. Yerba Mate Tea.

Ana and I drive out to Richmond for my dentist appointment. For the first hour our mouths are on fire from talking about all sorts of things. She drops me off at the VCU Dentistry and goes off on her own through town while I get my teeth worked on. In the dentist chair – putting on my shades to block the overhead light – my headphones on diverting my attention from all the drilling – the soothing sounds of Beethoven's piano sonatas at times actually blend in the pitch of the drills. It seems like I'm sitting there for hours. After infinity passes Ashley, my dentist, finally finishes up the job. Meanwhile, Ana is getting lost in Richmond...

We check out our favorite store in town, Diversity Thrift. We score a black dresser that Ana's been in desperate need of for some time now.

Ana Hiding in Furniture at Diversity Thrift (March 4 2016)

Getting a late lunch at Ipanema Café near Harrison Street.

Grilled Gouda Cheese Sandwich with Sweet Potato Fries and a Salad.

As we pass a cookie place Ana blurts out, "I could use a cookie!"

"Oh yeah?" I say. "What would you use it for?"

"For eating!"

Instead of cookies we stop by The Sugar Shack, a tradition whenever we're in Richmond. Filling our mouths with Donuts and Coffee.

On the drive back home...

The driver in front of us tosses a cigarette out the window and sparks in front of our windshield.

Me: "Yeah remember that time you threw an apple core out the window at the car behind you?"

Ana: "Yeah that's true. I deserved that. It's karma."

Then she corrects herself, "No, that's 'CAR'-ma!"

Back home. We move the dresser into her room and rearrange some stuff. Both of us are happy about this new addition that will help her keep her clothes from just lying all over the floor. Now there's a place they can go.

Later on, in my bedroom, she climbs into my bed. Sexual moods. Afterwards, she's still coughing intermittently so she decides to go back to her room to sleep.
