This is an open and unfiltered diary-style journal
on the life of James Robert Smith.
This blog will contain sometimes graphic experiences (both beautiful and ugly),
sometimes stark insight, and all honest and factual documentation of dreams, diet, activity, and thoughts.

At Ladada rehearsal with Josiah, Bobby, and Wes. We’re still

have some guy time with the boys sharing beers and thoughts.

time. Without Luke and Thomas it’s kind of difficult to practice songs but we
have fun any way.

Back home. Catching up on cleaning and business.
In Ana’s room we make fire, something we needed to do for a
while now.

Fulfilling my duties as half therapist/counselor today for

comfort and an identity.

At ELO rehearsal. Rebecca is actually here to try out the
female vocal role since Bri backed out of the band. She said she was nervous
but after working through the first half of the set it’s obvious she’s in. I
had a good feeling about it.
Back home. In the kitchen. Roland’s waiting on some jalapeno
poppers in the toaster oven. I’m slurping up Dolma’s (stuffed grape leaves).
Ana appears to make green tea. For some reason we get into a discussion about
the spectrum of prog rock and how dead heads (Grateful Dead fans) are on one
end but bands like Yes and Rush are on the opposite end.
Blueberry Muffin. Green Tea.
Later on, reconvening with Ana about our day. We get into a
bit of a dialogue about our relationship.
...
I get real animated and declare, “Ana, the day that you
choose to trust me is the day I turn into a rainbow! Who knows, maybe my hair
will start growing back!”
At some point we settle down in bed. She’s still real sensitive
and obviously not relaxed – nor am I.
She rustles herself up from the bed and says rather sternly,
“I don’t wanna be with you anymore.”
This is not the first time I’ve heard her say something
along these lines. She jumps to this conclusion almost every time we hit a road
block in the relationship. It’s natural for her to give up when things are
overwhelming. It’s natural for me to fight harder.
Oatmeal with Cinnamon, Blueberries, and Almond Milk. Irish
Breakfast Tea.
3 MMLIVE band rehearsals this afternoon.
PB&J and Potato Chips break with Coffee. Banana.
After 5:30 I head straight over to Broadway rehearsal. The
cast just finished up the entire show. Now I’m here to run the Aladdin number.
It gets better and better every time. I stick around to help clean up and load
up all the heavy props.
Home. Warming up some Bean and Vegetable Soup with Brown
Rice, Kale, and Sardines.
Watching more of the
Son of Sam documentary.
Cleaning up and chores.
Malasada Donut Ana got for me.
Later on, Ana and I rehearse the other Aladdin number at the
studio.

ELO songs with Rebecca – she might be the new female vocalist for the band.
Pineapple and Strawberries.
Scrambled Eggs. Toast with Coconut Oil and Jam. Spinach.
Salt n Vinegar Chips. Coffee.
Watching a little of the
Sons of Sam documentary.
Catching up on business.
Ana and I dress up and drive out to the lake house where
Skippy’s parents live. Richie and Jessica Howard are getting married in the
backyard. It’s a pleasant and live evening. It’s nice seeing Anthony and
friends – sharing a BBQ catering with the most delicious wedding cake made by
the bride herself.
Later on, we get the fire pit going.
A few stressful moments with Ana on the drive back home.
Chores and cleaning up the kitchen.
Chatting with Ana before she goes to bed about how stressed
she is about her band.
Ana’s in bed feeling the second dose blues – got an achy
body and headache – all just side effects from the vaccine.
Running errands. Meeting with Maria Popov, Alexa’s mom. She
helps people manage their diet and fitness routines. I decide to talk with her
about mine. She’s got a little store front off Jack Rabbit Rd.
I bring Ana a smoothie from Fruitive and eat a Portobello
Sandwich at her bedside.
Pineapple and Yogurt.
Continuing about my day – watering plants – getting
groceries – stopping by the thrift store.
Shooting the basketball around.
Cooking a big pot of Red Bean and Vegetable Soup for dinner.
Brown Rice, Mackerel, and Kale on the side.
At the studio organizing all the new headset mics we got in
and other things.
